Often considered to be “first aid in a bottle,” yarrow was commonly used to stop bleeding. In ancient Roman times, yarrow was said to be used to quickly stop bleeding in spear wounds while soldiers were engaged in war.
Yarrow can help to either start bleeding or stop bleeding. When used externally, it can promote wound healing and stop bleeding.
