Lavender Tallow

$20.00

This tallow was infused with whole lavender buds using a 2-step infusion process to extract every bit of goodness from the buds.

The scent is present but not overwhelming and has an earthy aroma.

The lavender tallow can be used to promote glowy skin, help smooth wrinkles, and help with skin irritations like acne. It can also be used on burns and cuts, to promote healing.

ABOUT TALLOW:

Tallow is having a moment right now, and for good reason. We now realize that our skin thrives with rich, saturated animal fats. Tallow checks those boxes! Saturated fats are stable even when heated, meaning they won't oxidize as seed oils do. Oxidation causes oils to go rancid, which then prematurely ages skin. A trendy word for it is PUFAs, or "Polyunsaturated fatty acids" which are essentially unstable fats. Stable fats are saturated ones, and when they come in contact with your warm, 98-degree body they remain structurally unchanged.

Tallow has been used for thousands of years in skin care. Using tallows from cows being butchered for meat is a way to utilize all parts of the cow and not contribute to the food waste problem.

This tallow is slowly rendered by hand, using a saltwater extraction process to ensure all impurities are pulled from the tallow, leaving behind a beautiful white balm that is nearly odorless unlike most tallow sold which can have a faint hamburger smell.

ABOUT LAVENDER:

Best known for its beautiful, floral, and earthy scent, lavender is also known to help promote calm in the body. It can help to soothe frazzled nerves and also provide calming support for the skin. When used topically it can help soothe burns, sunburns, acne, and some rashes.

  • As a little girl, I was fascinated with nature.

If you could peek into my past, you'd find a barefoot girl more comfortable when muddy, making mud villages, building treehouses, digging forts in the field, and crushing up flower petals to make perfume.
